Running Accomplishments:

I starting running in high school. In cross-country I did a 16:57 5k, 4:30 mile and 1:57 800.  I did a year of school and Delaware State University before transfering to BYU.  I walked onto the BYU track team as an 800m runner.  I lowered my 800 PR to 1:53.7 my first year.  I also did a 15:47 5k.  In the next year I set my indoor record at 1:55 but did not compete in the spring due to injuries.  After getting married and working I did not complete my last year of collegiate track running.

Short-Term Running Goals:

-Increase weekly mileage to 70 mpw.

-Run 4:05 mile/ 1:49 800

Personal:

I have been married for almost 3 years.  We are expecting our first child in July.

8 miles in 55:07. Did the first 4 in 27:58 and the last 4 in 27:09.  Was a nice and easy run.  My legs felt a bit heavy from my 13 on Saturday.  That was the longest run I have done in 2 years and, other then feeling heavy, my body seems to be taking the increased mileage really well.  I am really excited to see how my workout goes next wed.  I will be doing 5x 800 with 400m job in between each one. I am supposed to be at a 2:43 pace but I am hoping to do them at a 2:33 average pace, especially since my other workouts have been going so well. About 2.5 years ago I could do 4x800 with 2 min rest at about 2:11.  Obviously I was in better shape and I was training for the 800/1600, which is a lot different from what I am training for now.

7 easy miles on the provo river trail.  I did not where the watch because I wanted to take it easy and with the "super wind" outside, I figured my time would be off anyway.  It was really windy, need I say more.

7 miles in about 50:30.  Was raining a snowing a bit.  I had a little stomach flu and that made the run even worse.  I am happy this week is nothing but distance or I would probably quit running....FOREVER!!!!!! I am heading up to lava hot springs on thursday evening to spend some time with the family so I need to be sure to get my 7 miles in during the morning.

7.5 miles. Did a new out and back route today. It was really nice and I did not feel anywhere near as tired as I did yesterday.  I think running the same route almost everyday was making me extremely bored and tired on the run.  I am gonna try and change it up every other day now.

8.5 easy today.  A total of 42 this weeks.  This was my rest week after 3 moderate to hard weeks.  Next week I will hit 49 miles then it is 50+ for the next 11 weeks, peaking at 71 miles. Run felt good but I was tired again.  I think I need to make sure I am drinking enough water.  Good week.
