6 miles total. Did 1 mile warm-up, 5x800 w/400m job between each one and 1 mile cool down. Did this at the BYU track. It was a really nice day, high 50's with total sun and a slight breeze. My 800m times were 2:40, 2:40, 2:36, 2:36, 2:28. I have to admit I walked about 70m after each one before I started jogging. My times were supposed to be 2:43 even but I know for sure I am in much better shape. I felt a bit heavy on the first two but after that my pace felt the same on the others but was much faster. I have always had a really good finishing kick, whether in races or workouts and I want to keep that up. I will be happy with myself when I can do 8X800 @2:35 and the last one in 2:20, then I will know I am in 5k shape. |
